Forged Railroad Spike Hook

Handmade and hand forged from an abandoned and reclaimed railroad spike from the Northern California railroads. Each spike is unique and shows remarkable characteristics from their previous hard knock life on the rails. The years of vibration from trains passing over the spikes has caused some to wear in a specific spot from where the spike was in contact with the tie plate holding down the track. All of these traits of the great railroad spike give each and every one a beautiful individuality. The markings on the spike heads will vary, some have an “MC” stamped in them referring to “medium carbon” content. Some have an “HC” referring to “high carbon” content, and so on. Sold as an individual hook, with 2 mounting screws included.
